Robert Burns lived in Scotland from January 25, 1759 - July 21, 1796. "Robbie" Burns, considered a Pre-Romantic period poet and songwriter, was also known as the Bard of Ayrshire. A farmer by trade, he became Scotland's most famous literary figure before his death at the age of 37.
